In the heart of the city of Shakhrisabz rise the majestic ruins known as the Ak-Saray Palace. This was the grand residence of Amir Timur, built in his homeland during the 14th–15th centuries. Once a true symbol of the Timurid Empire's power, today this architectural monument is listed as a heritage site, recalling the golden age of medieval Central Asia in the country of Uzbekistan.

The name of the structure translates as "White Palace". It was conceived as the most ambitious creation of its time: the main gates alone reached a height of over 70 meters. Exquisite mosaics and calligraphic inscriptions decorating the walls demonstrated the incredible skill of ancient architects.
Although only fragments of the main portal and parts of the walls have survived to this day, even these ruins capture the imagination with their scale. Visitors can see the remains of towers and the magnificent blue tiling that once covered the entire building, making it look like a fairytale mirage amidst the sands.
