In the heart of the city of Maturín lies a green oasis known as La Guaricha Zoo (Parque Zoológico La Guaricha). This municipal park, covering an area of about 7 hectares, is not just a place for a walk, but an important center for the conservation of fauna characteristic of the Monagas region and all of Venezuela.

Located less than 400 meters from the city center, the zoo offers visitors a unique opportunity to get acquainted with South American wildlife in a comfortable urban environment. Animal enclosures, shaded alleys, and picturesque artificial lakes coexist harmoniously, creating an atmosphere of unity with nature.
The primary mission of La Guaricha is to protect and showcase species typical of the Venezuelan wilderness. Thanks to the support of the state and municipal administrations, conditions are maintained here that are as close as possible to the natural habitats of the animals and birds, making a visit both educational and exciting for guests of all ages.
