St. Agnes Co-cathedral (Iglesia Concatedral de Santa Inés) is the oldest and one of the most revered Catholic churches in the city of Cumaná. Located in the historic San Francisco district, this cathedral is the spiritual heart of the city, which is often called the "firstborn" of the South American continent. In Venezuela, this site holds the status of a National Historic Monument, confirmed by state decree back in 1960.

Architecturally, the church is a majestic three-nave basilica divided by elegant arches on Doric columns. Of particular value is the use of traditional materials and construction techniques, such as bahareque and sturdy stone foundations. In 2023, Pope Francis granted the cathedral the status of Minor Basilica, highlighting its international significance in the Catholic world.
\nAn atmosphere of reverence and antiquity reigns inside the cathedral. Numerous colonial images and works of art are carefully preserved here, and historical burials of prominent citizens are located beneath the church itself. Its proximity to the ruins of an ancient castle completes the historical landscape, making it a must-visit for all culture and history enthusiasts.
