Bibi-Heybat Mosque is one of the most significant monuments of Islamic architecture in Azerbaijan, majestically situated on the coast of Baku Bay in the village of Shikhovo, near the city of Baku. It is not just a place of worship, but a true symbol of faith and history. The modern mosque building was lovingly recreated in 1999 on the site of a historical 13th-century mosque destroyed in the 1930s, highlighting the deep respect for cultural heritage.

The current mosque building, designed by the talented architect Sanan Sultanov, is a prime example of the classical Shirvan architectural school. Its graceful forms, soaring minarets, and rich decor attract the attention of both believers and architecture enthusiasts. The mosque blends harmoniously into the coastal landscape, creating a peaceful atmosphere.
Bibi-Heybat is more than just a mosque; it is an entire spiritual complex including the tombs and burial sites of revered figures. Due to the number of descendants of the Prophet Muhammad buried here, the mosque ranks third in importance among the shrines of the Islamic world, making it a major pilgrimage site. In the past, it was known as the "Fatima Mosque" and consistently drew the attention of researchers and travelers captivated by its sanctity and beauty.
