When planning a trip to Maricá, keep in mind that predominantly warm weather awaits you all year round. Average temperatures are comfortable, ranging from approximately 21°C in the cooler months (June-August) to 27°C in the hottest ones (January-March). Therefore, the basis of your wardrobe should be light and breathable clothing: cotton T-shirts, shorts, skirts, sundresses, and light trousers made from natural fabrics. Do not forget reliable sun protection – high SPF sunscreen, quality sunglasses, and headwear (a hat or cap) are absolutely necessary for a comfortable stay under the Brazilian sun.

Particular attention should be paid to precipitation. Although the monthly amount of rainfall in Maricá is not very high (from 1 to 7 mm), the number of rainy days can be quite significant, especially from October to March, when 17 to 22 rainy days per month are recorded. This means that short, possibly light showers are a frequent occurrence. Therefore, a light folding umbrella or a compact raincoat will become your indispensable companions. Although there is no distinct cold winter in Maricá, during the period from June to August, evenings and early morning hours can be a little fresher, with minimum temperatures dropping to 17-19°C. For such moments, as well as for comfort in air-conditioned rooms, provide for a light sweater, cardigan, fleece, or thin windbreaker. The principle of layering in clothing is an excellent solution that will allow you to easily adapt to small temperature fluctuations during the day and feel comfortable in any situation.
