Overview

Prado welcomes travelers with a mild tropical climate, making this Brazilian getaway attractive practically year-round. An atmosphere of eternal summer prevails here: temperatures are remarkably stable, avoiding both extreme heat and sharp cold snaps. Even during the coolest months, the air remains comfortably warm, perfect for strolling and relaxing by the coast.

There are no distinct seasons in the traditional sense. A nominal summer, occurring from January to March, features daytime temperatures around +29°C, while "winter" (June to August) brings a light freshness with average highs of about +25°C. Nights in Prado also remain warm throughout the year, rarely dropping below +20°C, creating ideal conditions for evening relaxation.

A characteristic feature of the weather is the regular presence of precipitation: the number of rainy days remains quite high in any given month (from 12 to 20 days). However, as is often the case in the tropics, rains can be frequent but are not necessarily prolonged. This consistency in temperature and humidity ensures the lush blooming of local flora and allows tourists to plan their trip without fear of getting cold, regardless of the chosen date.

Temperature

The climate in Prado is remarkably stable and mild, making this Brazilian resort attractive to visit almost year-round. The hottest period is from January to March, when the average air temperature stays around 26–27°C. During this time, daytime heat can reach 29.5°C, creating ideal conditions for beach holidays and swimming in the ocean, though you should be prepared for high humidity.

The "winter" season, which falls in June, July, and August in the Southern Hemisphere, brings only a slight cooling. These months become a bit fresher, with average temperatures dropping to 22–23°C. This time is perfect for those who do not tolerate intense heat well, as even on the coolest nights, the temperature rarely falls below 20°C, remaining comfortable for evening strolls.

A characteristic feature of the weather in Prado is the lack of sharp temperature fluctuations between day and night. The range typically spans only 5–6 degrees, allowing the body to easily adapt to local conditions. Thanks to this steady temperature profile, travelers can enjoy the tropical warmth without extreme overheating or sudden cold at any time of year.

Precipitation

Precipitation in Prado is distributed throughout the year in a rather specific way: there is no distinct dry season, and rain can occur regularly in any month. Thanks to Brazil's warm tropical climate, precipitation falls exclusively as rain; snow never occurs here.

The highest number of rainy days occurs during the spring and autumn months. April is the record holder, with rain observed on up to 20 days a month, followed by March with 19 rainy days. However, the intensity of this precipitation remains low according to statistics: rains here are frequent but generally very light or brief, resembling a light drizzle.

In terms of volume, the "wettest" months are November and December (averaging about 6 mm of precipitation), while in other months, this figure stays around 2–4 mm. The least rainy period in terms of frequency is September, when the number of rainy days drops to 12, making the start of spring a relatively more stable time for exploring.

Packing Tips

When heading to Prado, you should plan for the warm tropical climate that prevails here year-round. Your wardrobe should consist primarily of light clothing made from natural, breathable fabrics like cotton or linen. T-shirts, shorts, loose trousers, and summer dresses will keep you comfortable in average temperatures of around 25–26°C. Since temperatures rarely drop below 20°C even during the "coldest" months (June–August), you won't need heavy jackets, but swimwear is a must.

Special attention should be paid to rain protection, as rainy days occur quite frequently in this region regardless of the season. We recommend packing a compact umbrella or a light raincoat that won't take up much space but will save you from a sudden downpour. If your trip falls between June and September, it’s a good idea to bring a light sweater, cardigan, or windbreaker; these will come in handy for evening walks when it gets a bit cooler or for protection against the wind.

Don’t forget essential accessories for a comfortable stay under the Brazilian sun. Be sure to pack high-SPF sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to prevent overheating. For excursions and long walks, choose comfortable, broken-in footwear—light sneakers or sandals with good support are the best choices.
