If you want to transport yourself into the atmosphere of the colonial past, the Solar Monjardim Mansion (Museu Solar Monjardim) is an ideal destination on your travel map. Located in an ancient district of Vitória, this majestic 18th-century house is considered the oldest private rural building from the colonial period in the entire state of Espírito Santo. It once served as the administrative center of a flourishing farm, and today it is an important federal museum.

The architecture of the mansion is a classic example of the Portuguese colonial style. Snow-white walls, 11 cozy bedrooms, spacious halls, and an elegant veranda create a unique look for the estate. A special place in the ensemble is held by the house chapel, dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, which highlights the deep traditions and lifestyle of the estate owners in the distant past.
Inside the building in Brazil, an impressive collection of nearly 4,000 items is kept today. Here, you can see original 19th-century furniture, exquisite porcelain, sacred art, and everyday objects that allow you to literally peek through the keyhole of history and see how the local elite lived several centuries ago.
