General Weather Overview

Cayman Brac welcomes travellers with a classic tropical climate that is perfect for a beach holiday at almost any time of the year. Eternal summer reigns here: temperature fluctuations throughout the year are insignificant, and the air consistently warms up to a comfortable +25…+29°C. Thanks to this, there are no sharp seasonal changes on the island, and even in the "coldest" months, the weather remains mild and warm.

The year can be roughly divided into drier and wetter periods. The most favourable time for those who prefer clear skies falls in February, March, and April, when the number of rainy days is minimal. During this time, the Cayman Islands delight tourists with plenty of sunshine and a low probability of precipitation.

From May to October, a season of high humidity is observed, when rains occur more frequently, peaking in May and October. However, even during this period, precipitation often takes the form of short tropical downpours, quickly replaced by the sun refreshing the island's nature. Such stability makes the resort an attractive destination regardless of the calendar.

Temperature

The climate on the island of Cayman Brac is distinguished by enviable stability, offering tourists warmth and comfort at any time of the year. The concept of cold is practically absent here: the annual temperature amplitude is minimal. The hottest period is traditionally the end of summer, especially August, when average figures reach 28.6°C. The "coolest" month is considered to be January, yet even at this time, the air is warmed to a very comfortable 25.5°C.

Summer months bring pleasant warmth to the island, ideal for beach holidays and diving. At the height of the season, from June to September, maximum temperatures fluctuate around 28-29°C, rarely exceeding the 30-degree mark, which saves one from exhausting heat. Winter here is very mild and warm: from December to February, the thermometer stays at the level of 25-26°C, creating magnificent conditions for those wishing to escape the cold.

A curious feature of the weather conditions on Cayman Brac is the surprisingly small difference between day and night temperatures. According to statistics, fluctuations during the day often do not exceed 1-2 degrees. This means that nights here are just as warm as the days: even in the "coldest" months, the night temperature rarely drops below 24.8°C, so you are unlikely to need warm clothes.

Precipitation

When planning a journey to Cayman Brac, it is worth considering that the nature of precipitation here is typical for the tropics: there is no snow, and rains fall with varying intensity throughout the year. The year can be roughly divided into drier and wetter periods, which helps tourists choose the ideal time for a beach holiday.

The most favourable time for lovers of clear skies is the beginning of spring. March is the driest month of the year: statistics show a minimal level of precipitation and only about 5 rainy days. February and April are also characterized by stable weather, when the number of days with precipitation rarely exceeds 6–8 per month, making this period an excellent choice for a visit.

The rainy season on the island has its own distinct features and two pronounced peaks. The first surge in precipitation activity occurs in May, when the number of rainy days sharply increases to 22. The second, more intense wet period is observed in autumn. October is considered the rainiest month of the year: precipitation falls very frequently (up to 23 days), and its volume reaches the annual maximum. September is also characterized by high humidity, so at this time of year, one should be prepared for frequent rains.

What to Pack

When packing for Cayman Brac, opt for a light and breathable wardrobe, as the air temperature here remains consistently in the comfortable range of +25...+29°C throughout the year. Items made from natural fabrics, such as cotton and linen, will be the best choice. Be sure to put several sets of swimwear, sunglasses, and headwear in your suitcase to protect yourself from the active tropical sun.

Considering the distribution of precipitation, it is worth paying attention to seasonality. May and October are the wettest months (more than 20 rainy days), so a light raincoat or a compact umbrella will be simply essential at this time. Even if you are planning a trip during the "drier" period from January to April, a light windbreaker or a long-sleeved top will come in handy for evening walks by the ocean, when a fresh breeze may be felt.

For active exploration of the island and walks on rough terrain, it is recommended to bring comfortable closed shoes or trainers. Also, do not forget sunscreen with a high SPF factor and insect repellents, as insects can be particularly active on humid days. Such a set of items will ensure a comfortable holiday on the Cayman Islands regardless of the whims of the weather.
