Aalborg Railway Station (Aalborg Banegård) is the city's main transport hub and the gateway to the picturesque region of North Jutland. Located on John F. Kennedy Square, this station serves thousands of passengers daily, connecting Aalborg with Copenhagen, Aarhus, and other parts of Denmark. The station building, which combines historical charm with modern functionality, serves as the starting point for many tourists.

It is important for passengers to know that the station is located in the immediate vicinity of the Aalborg Bus Terminal (Aalborg Busterminal), ensuring the most convenient transfer to regional and city buses. Navigation inside the building is simple and intuitive: exits lead to the city centre and taxi stands. Access to the platforms is provided via walkways equipped with lifts, making movement with luggage comfortable.

Getting to the station is very simple thanks to its location in the city centre, next to the Kennedy Arkaden shopping centre. Most city and regional buses arrive here, as the main bus terminal is located literally in the adjacent building. This makes the station easily accessible from any point in Aalborg.

If you are in the historic centre or on the waterfront, you can reach the station on foot in just 10–15 minutes. A taxi rank is located right at the main entrance facing Kennedy Square. Additionally, there is a direct rail connection to Aalborg Airport: the train journey takes about 10–12 minutes.

The station offers a wide range of services for the convenience of travellers. In the waiting hall, there are DSB ticket machines and counters (operating during limited hours), as well as a 7-Eleven convenience store where you can purchase tickets and travel cards. Free Wi-Fi is available for passengers, allowing you to stay connected while waiting for your train.

Reliable luggage lockers of various sizes are provided for storing belongings. There are paid washrooms on the premises, which are kept clean. The building is fully adapted for citizens with reduced mobility: there are lifts for platform access and specially equipped sanitary rooms.

For a quick snack right inside the station building, there is a 7-Eleven store. Here you can buy hot coffee, fresh pastries, sandwiches, and beverages for your journey. This is an ideal option if there is very little time left before your train departs.

If you have at least half an hour to spare, it is worth visiting the adjacent Kennedy Arkaden shopping centre. It houses a large supermarket, as well as several cafes and fast-food restaurants. Prices here are quite reasonable. Within walking distance of the station, there are also cosy city restaurants where you can have a full meal.

Rail service in Aalborg was inaugurated in 1869, when the first line connected the city with Randers. The current station building was constructed later, in 1902, designed by the renowned architect Thomas Arboe. It is a fine example of the architecture of that time and symbolises the development of the region's transport network.

Throughout its history, the station has been renovated multiple times to meet modern requirements, yet it has retained its historical appearance. It has played a key role in the economic growth of North Jutland, becoming a vital link connecting the region with the rest of Europe.

It is recommended to arrive at the station 15–20 minutes before departure to calmly find the correct platform. Watch the electronic boards closely: the departure track may change. For long-distance trips (for example, to Copenhagen), we strongly advise purchasing a seat reservation (Pladsbillet), especially during peak hours, to guarantee a seat.

The station is a safe place, but as with any transport hub, do not leave your luggage unattended. Please note that at night the station building closes for several hours, so it will not be possible to sleep in the waiting hall — please plan your connections in advance.
