If you are looking for a place where history comes alive, be sure to visit San Blas Park. This is one of the oldest and most significant public spaces that Cuenca is proud of. Located in the eastern part of the historic center, this cozy square serves as an important link between the city's past and present.

The park occupies half a block directly across from the magnificent San Blas Church. It is not just a green zone in the heart of Ecuador, but a true cultural crossroads, known for its elegant central fountain and a monument to the famous journalist Manuel J. Calle, which has graced the square since 1945.
Officially, this place also bears the name Parque Hurtado de Mendoza, commemorating the city's founders, but for most, it remains the beloved and familiar San Blas. The park is famous for its peaceful atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to slow down for a moment and feel the spirit of old Cuenca.
