The Panama Hat Museum is a unique cultural space in Ecuador, located in the charming city of Cuenca. Officially known as Museo Del Sombrero De Paja Toquilla, it is not just an exhibition but a functioning factory with a rich history, owned by the Paredes Roldán family.

The museum building is located on the famous Calle Larga, and its entrance is decorated with a giant straw hat. Inside, visitors can see the entire journey of creating the legendary headwear: from harvesting and preparing the paja toquilla palm fibers to giving the finished product its final shape on special wooden blocks.
This site is considered one of the oldest workshops in the country, where the traditions of manual labor are carefully preserved. The exhibits clearly show why Ecuadorian hats are valued worldwide for their lightness, durability, and elegance of weave, turning a simple accessory into a true work of art.
