The Saint-Urbain Basilica in Troyes is a true gem of Rayonnant Gothic architecture, located in the historic center of Troyes. Due to its incredible structural lightness and flawless proportions, this church is often hailed as the "Parthenon of Champagne." Built in the 13th century, it became one of the boldest architectural projects of its time in France.

The main feature of the basilica lies in its "transparency." The walls here seem almost weightless, as the primary load is transferred to external flying buttresses, while the interior space is occupied by enormous stained-glass windows. Instead of the usual three-tier wall division, only two levels are used here, creating a sense of incredible height and filling the interior with streams of light.
Inside, the basilica houses unique artistic treasures, including original stained glass from 1270 and the famous statue "Virgin of the Grapes" (Vierge aux Raisins)—an exquisite example of the 16th-century Troyes school of sculpture. Today, this national monument is a must-see for all connoisseurs of medieval art.
