The fastest and most convenient way to reach the atoll is by air. Flights are received by the local Tikehau Airport (TIH), which connects the island with Tahiti and other atolls of the Tuamotu Archipelago. 3. Cash. There are few ATMs on the atoll, and they may not work, while cards are not accepted everywhere. It is better to exchange currency for Pacific Francs (XPF) in Tahiti before departure.
4. Transport on the island. The main mode of transport is the bicycle. Many guesthouses provide them for free or for a small fee. This is the ideal way to leisurely explore the surroundings.
5. Drinking water. Tap water is usually not suitable for drinking. Buy bottled water in local shops to avoid health issues.
