The climate of Aligarh is typical of northern India: subtropical weather prevails here with a clear division into seasons. Throughout the year, travellers may encounter both intense heat and pleasant coolness, so choosing the time of your trip plays a key role. In general, the weather can be described as hot and arid in the first half of the year, followed by a wet monsoon season, and concluding with a mild, dry winter.

Summer starts early: the air warms up significantly as early as April, and in May and June, average maximum temperatures reach 38°C. With the arrival of July, the weather pattern changes—the rainy season begins. Although the temperature drops slightly, the number of rainy days increases sharply: in July and August, precipitation can occur almost daily, bringing high humidity.

The most favourable time for tourism is winter, especially the period from December to February. During this time, comfortable, clear weather settles in Aligarh with average temperatures around 13–17°C, although nights can be quite cool when the air cools down to 8–10°C. Precipitation rarely falls in winter, creating ideal conditions for long walks and sightseeing.

The temperature pattern in Aligarh is distinguished by distinct seasonality, offering travellers a wide range of weather conditions depending on the time of year. The hottest months are traditionally May and June, when average daily highs reach 38°C. During this period, the heat can be quite intense, so it is better to choose morning or evening hours for excursions.

If you are planning a journey during the hot summer months (from April to June), when the daytime temperature often exceeds 35°C, opt for light, loose clothing made of natural breathable fabrics such as cotton or linen.
