Sparkling Dal Lake is the heart of the city of Srinagar and one of the most recognizable natural gems that India is proud of. This vast body of water, often called the "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir," represents an amazing symbiosis of natural beauty and ancient traditions.

The surface area of the lake, along with its canals and floating gardens, reaches 21 square kilometers. It is divided into four main basins, with picturesque islands adorned with ancient Chinar trees located in the center. Dal Lake is an entire ecosystem where life has flowed directly on the water for centuries.
You won't find conventional streets here: they are replaced by waterways where elegant boats glide. This place attracts travelers with its houseboats and unique views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks reflecting in the calm lake water.
