Located in the holy city of Srisailam, the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga Temple is one of the most revered pilgrimage centers in India. This site holds unique spiritual significance as it houses one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas—self-manifested lingams of Lord Shiva, which are considered powerful sources of divine energy.
What makes this temple truly special is its status as not only a Jyotirlinga but also one of the eighteen Shakti Peethas, the sacred abodes of Goddess Shakti, the consort of Shiva. Such a rare combination of the main shrines of the God and Goddess in one place makes Srisailam one of the holiest places in the country. Here, Shiva is worshipped as Lord Mallikarjuna, and his divine consort as Sri Bhramaramba Devi.
