On the coast of the city of Visakhapatnam in India lies one of the most unusual attractions—the INS Kursura Submarine Museum. This is not just an exhibition, but a real decommissioned Foxtrot-class submarine (Project 641) that once served in the Indian Navy. INS Kursura (S20) became the first museum of its kind in Asia and one of the few in the world where a submarine is displayed directly on land rather than in the water.
The museum ship is strikingly located on the famous RK Beach, making it a prominent landmark and an easily accessible place to visit. The massive hull of the submarine, set right on the sand, creates an impressive sight and attracts the attention of both tourists and locals.

Visitors can go inside and see for themselves how life and service were organized on board a submarine. A tour of the boat's compartments, including the engine room, torpedo room, and living quarters, introduces its technical equipment and history, allowing you to touch the country's maritime past. Retired naval officers often serve as guides here, adding authenticity to the stories.
The museum is very popular with families with children, students, and anyone interested in naval technology and history. It is a unique opportunity to explore a submarine from the inside without going underwater, making the visit an educational and exciting adventure.
