Musical Fountain Eilat

About

As the sun sets behind the red mountains, Eilat is transformed, and its centerpiece becomes the Eilat Musical Fountain — a grandiose water feature recognized as the largest of its kind in all of Israel. Located near the central park, this site was inspired by the legendary fountains of Las Vegas and Barcelona, bringing elements of world-class entertainment to the resort's atmosphere.

This modern complex covers an impressive area of about 1,500 square meters. Its technological "heart" is impressive: 350 water jets can soar into the sky to a height of up to 30 meters, dancing to the rhythms of music. The visual effect is complemented by 400 colored LED lamps that create thousands of shades, turning the water into a living, shimmering canvas.

The Eilat Musical Fountain is not just an architectural monument, but a full audiovisual performance that combines art, engineering, and the natural element of water. It is a hub of attraction where hundreds of tourists and locals gather every evening to feel the rhythm of modern Israel in the spray of cool water.

What to Do

The main reason to come here is, of course, the evening music and light shows. Each performance lasts about six minutes, during which streams of water "come alive," moving in perfect synchronization with melodies of various genres — from classical to modern global hits. It's best to watch this spectacle by arriving early to find a good spot, as the fountain always draws a large crowd.

In the daytime, the concept changes. The fountain operates as an interactive area where there are no fences, and anyone can walk right between the water jets. This turns into a fun adventure for children and a great way to cool off on a hot southern afternoon.

For tech enthusiasts, there's a special surprise: through a mobile app, guests can sometimes independently control the fountain, choosing music or activating specific combinations of water cannons. This interactivity makes visiting the fountain a unique digital experience that is long remembered by both adults and children.

Getting There

Finding this popular hub is easy, as the Eilat Musical Fountain is located in the heart of the tourist zone, in the Yotam district. It is in close proximity to the central city park and the site of the former airport. Most visitors staying in coastal hotels can reach it on foot in just 10–15 minutes.

If you plan to arrive by car, parking is available near the site. The location is also easily accessible by city taxis or buses heading to the city center. Thanks to its central location, the fountain serves as an excellent landmark for evening strolls.

History & Facts

Although Eilat is a city with a rich history, its main water attraction is a modern project. The Eilat Musical Fountain was officially opened in 2015. This was the result of a large-scale collaboration between the municipality, the Israel Ministry of Tourism, and the Government Tourism Development Corporation.

The creation of the site was an important step in urban renewal. Authorities aimed to create a unique free recreation area that could compete with global entertainment counterparts. The investment paid off: the fountain instantly became one of the resort's most recognizable landmarks.

Today, it is not only a tourist site but also a favorite meeting place for locals. The innovative technologies used in its construction allow the fountain to remain relevant and technically advanced, constantly updating its musical and light repertoire.

Time Needed

To fully enjoy the magic of water and light, 30 to 60 minutes is enough for most visitors. This is plenty of time to find a comfortable spot, watch one or two shows, and take beautiful photos against the backdrop of illuminated jets.

If you are traveling with children, the visit may last longer. During the day or between shows, children often stay here longer, playing in the fountain's interactive zone. In any case, this place is ideal for a short, pleasant break during a walk around the city.

Working Hours

Musical performances are not held every day, so it is important to plan your visit for Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. Official operating hours on these days are from 20:30 to 21:30. No shows are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays.

Please note the seasonality: in the summer (April to October), shows usually start at 20:30 and 21:30, and the water jets may run in standard mode from 17:00. In the winter (November to March), the schedule shifts slightly earlier — performances start at 19:30 and 20:30.
