The highest probability of catching rain exists at the end of winter and the beginning of spring (March can count up to 9 rainy days), as well as in July. The rest of the time, especially in October and November, the weather is predominantly dry and clear, which is excellent for planning excursions and walks around the city.

Winter here can be quite harsh by regional standards: the coldest month is January with an average temperature of just 4.6°C. Summer begins with a dry period, but in July and August, the influence of seasonal winds brings a slight increase in cloudiness and precipitation — up to 5–6 days with rain per month, although their intensity remains low.

The driest months of the year are June, September, and October, when the likelihood of rain is reduced to a minimum (only about 1 day with precipitation per month). At this time, the sky remains clear and the air dry. Travellers should note that even in the "wet" months, precipitation in Quetta is generally moderate, so an umbrella might be needed, but prolonged downpours are a rarity.

Quetta is distinguished by a rather contrasting climate, so the contents of your suitcase will depend heavily on the time of year. Winters here are cold, with temperatures dropping below freezing, so for a trip from December to February, be sure to take a warm jacket or down coat, woollen sweaters, a hat, and gloves. In the off-season, spring and autumn, the weather is changeable: it can be comfortably warm during the day, while evenings remain cool. Summer in this region of Pakistan is hot and dry, with the thermometer often rising above 30°C.
