Current Weather

Planning a visit to Talisay? Here you will find up-to-date information on current weather conditions and detailed forecasts to help you better plan your trip to the Philippines.

Overview

Talisay, located on the picturesque coast of Cebu Island, has a humid tropical climate. This part of the Philippines is characterized by consistently high temperatures throughout the year and significant humidity, creating an atmosphere of eternal summer.

The city's climate features two distinct periods: the dry season, which usually lasts from November to May, and the wet season from June to October. Despite the name, rain in Talisay can occur at any time of year, but during the dry period, showers are brief and rarely interfere with tourist plans.

Special attention should be paid to the period from August to October, when the region is most susceptible to tropical cyclones and typhoons. However, thanks to the proximity to the sea, the sweltering heat is often tempered by a pleasant breeze, making a stay in the city comfortable for lovers of exotic nature.

Temperature

The temperature in Talisay is remarkably stable, with the average annual range fluctuating within a narrow band of 26°C to 29°C. The hottest months are May and June, when daytime highs regularly reach 30–31°C. Combined with high humidity, this weather can feel more sweltering, so it is best to spend the midday hours in the shade.

The period from January to February is considered the "coolest" time of year, although for many travelers it feels like a full summer: during the day, the air warms up to 28°C, and at night the temperature rarely drops below 24°C. Daily temperature fluctuations are small, averaging 4–5°C, so even evening walks in Talisay will not require warm clothing.

Beach lovers will enjoy the water temperature in the coastal waters of the Philippines. Throughout the year, the water remains perfectly warm, reaching 27–29°C. This allows for swimming and water sports at any time of year without the risk of getting cold.

Precipitation

Precipitation in Talisay is distinctly tropical: it is abundant, intense, and often accompanied by thunderstorms. The driest period of the year is March and April, when rainfall is minimal and the sky remains mostly clear. This is the ideal time for those who prefer guaranteed sunny weather.

The peak of the wet season occurs from October to December. According to statistics, rain falls almost daily during these months, and total precipitation can exceed 300 mm per month. However, even during this period, downpours are usually brief and intense, occurring mainly in the afternoon or at night, leaving plenty of time for daytime activities.

It is important to remember the high probability of typhoons in late summer and early autumn. During these times, the weather can remain unstable for several days. Air humidity in the city stays high year-round, ranging from 60% on sunny days to 90% and above during periods of prolonged rain, giving Talisay's climate its characteristic softness.

Packing Tips

For a comfortable stay in Talisay, the core of your wardrobe should consist of light and loose clothing made of natural materials (cotton, linen), which allow the skin to breathe in high humidity. Be sure to bring high-quality sunscreen with a high SPF, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses — the tropical sun in the Philippines is very intense even on cloudy days.

If your trip is planned for the rainy season (June–October), be sure to pack a compact umbrella or a light raincoat, as well as quick-drying shoes. For fans of water activities and snorkeling, a rash guard will come in handy to protect your shoulders and back from sunburn during long periods in the water. Also, don't forget insect repellent, especially if you plan on evening walks.

Keep in mind that air conditioning is often running at full power in shopping malls, hotels, and on public transport. To avoid catching a cold due to the sudden temperature change, we recommend always having a light scarf or a thin sweater with you. For city walks and excursions, comfortable open shoes or light sneakers are best.
