Rising on Simeonovskaya Hill, St. Simeon of Verkhoturye Cathedral is the main spiritual symbol of the city of Chelyabinsk. This majestic white-stone temple, consecrated in honor of a saint especially revered in the Urals, has journeyed from a modest cemetery church to the central cathedral of the diocese. Its golden domes and classical architectural forms make it one of the most recognizable landmarks, carefully preserved by Russia.

The cathedral's uniqueness lies in the fact that it never closed throughout its history, including the difficult periods of the 20th century. Built in 1883, the temple has preserved a special, sacred atmosphere. Today, it is not just a functioning religious site, but also a valuable historical and architectural monument, attracting both pilgrims and tourists with its harmonious appearance and rich interior.
Inside, visitors are greeted by skillful paintings in the academic style, created by Moscow masters, and a magnificent iconostasis. The cathedral has three altars and is home to many revered relics. Thanks to its location on an elevation, it is visible from many points in the Zarechnaya part of the city, inviting everyone to touch the living history of Ural Orthodoxy.
