The majestic Bujaco Tower rises above the main square of the ancient city of Cáceres, standing as one of the most recognizable symbols that Spain is proud of. This powerful 12th-century defensive structure, built in the Moorish style on a solid Roman foundation, is a living testament to the centuries-old history of the Extremadura region.

Square in plan, the tower reaches a height of about 25 meters. Its walls, built of brick and reinforced with stone corners, hold the memory of the Reconquista era. Architectural features include machicolations — overhanging battlements — as well as the elegant 18th-century Renaissance Balcón de los Fueros. The tower was once whitewashed, but a restoration in the last century returned it to its rugged and authentic bare stone appearance.
Today, the monument houses a modern interpretation center. Here, visitors can see archaeological finds and documents, including copies of the city statutes signed by King Alfonso IX. The tower is a UNESCO World Heritage site and serves as an ideal starting point for immersing yourself in the atmosphere of the Old Town.
