Summer in Malaga, especially in July and August, is characterised by high temperatures, often reaching 30°C, and almost a complete absence of rainfall. This is the ideal time for a beach holiday and enjoying the sea. Winters, from December to February, remain mild, with average temperatures around 10-12°C. Although rains are possible during the winter months and early spring (especially in March, which sees the highest number of rainy days), they are usually not prolonged, and total precipitation is low.

Spring and autumn are perhaps the most comfortable seasons to visit Malaga if you prefer moderate weather. Temperatures during these periods are very pleasant, perfectly suitable for walking around the city, sightseeing, and active leisure. Precipitation is minimal, and the sun delights with its warmth, creating ideal conditions for an unforgettable journey.

The annual temperature regime in Malaga is distinguished by pleasant mildness and an abundance of warm days. The hottest month is traditionally August, when the average temperature reaches 25.4°C, and daytime highs often approach 29.9°C. July is slightly cooler with an average temperature of 25.2°C and highs up to 30.0°C. The coolest month is considered January: the average temperature at this time is about 10.8°C, with nighttime lows dropping to an average of 7.2°C, and daytime highs holding at 14.3°C.

The summer months in Malaga are a true realm of sun and warmth. From June to August, temperatures confidently stay at high marks. However, even in this "wettest" month, precipitation usually takes the form of light or moderate rain. The months from January to April and from October to December also bring some rainfall, averaging from 1 to 2 mm, with the number of rainy days ranging from 4 to 8. For instance, January and April see an average of 8 rainy days, while October, November, and December see about 7.

When planning a trip to Malaga, it is important to consider its Mediterranean climate to pack your suitcase correctly. Summer (June-August) here is hot and dry, with average temperatures reaching 25°C and highs around 30°C. During this time, you will need light, breathable clothing made from natural fabrics, swimwear, headwear, sunglasses, and, of course, high SPF sunscreen. Since rainfall in summer is minimal, an umbrella will likely not be useful. Comfortable open footwear, such as sandals or espadrilles, will be ideal for walking.

Winter (December-February) in Malaga is mild, with average temperatures around 11-12°C. Although there are no frosts, evenings and nights can be cool (minimum temperatures drop to 7-8°C). It is recommended to bring a demi-season jacket or coat, sweaters, jeans, or thick trousers. The principle of layering in clothing will be very handy, allowing you to adapt to temperature changes throughout the day. Although precipitation is low, rainy days occur in the winter months, as well as in March and November, so a light waterproof jacket or a small umbrella may prove useful. Comfortable closed footwear for walking is mandatory.

Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) are transitional seasons with comfortable temperatures. Average indicators range from 13°C in March to 22°C in September. During these periods, it is also worth adhering to the layering principle: T-shirts, light jumpers, cardigans, jeans, and comfortable shoes. In March and November, the probability of rain is higher, so do not forget an umbrella or a raincoat. Regardless of the time of year, comfortable footwear for long walks around the city and its surroundings is something that should definitely be in your luggage.
