History & Facts

The history of Nong Nooch Tropical Garden began back in 1954 when Pisit and Nong Nooch Tansacha purchased a vast plot of land measuring about 600 acres in Chonburi Province, on Sukhumvit Highway. Initially, their intention was purely practical: they planned to establish plantations for growing fruits and vegetables. Few could have guessed then that this place was destined to become one of Thailand's most famous attractions.

A decisive turning point in the garden's future occurred thanks to Mrs. Nong Nooch's travels abroad. The beauty of the gardens she saw made such a lasting impression on her that upon her return, she convinced her husband to change their initial plans. Instead of agricultural land, it was decided to create a unique park aimed at tourists. Taking up the task with enthusiasm, the Tansacha family began transforming the area: the first restaurants, cozy bungalows for guests, swimming pools, and function halls appeared here.

In 1980, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden officially opened its doors to the public, quickly gaining popularity among both locals and international tourists visiting Pattaya. Since 2001, their son, Kampon Tansacha, has continued his parents' legacy, taking over as director. Under his leadership, the park has not only maintained its charm but also continued to develop actively, adding new amazing plant collections and entertainment zones, turning into the magnificent complex we know today.
