The fortress complex is a massive fortification. It is surrounded by powerful walls totaling approximately 6.5 kilometers in length, reinforced by numerous towers. The eastern part of the wall dramatically descends to the sea itself, connecting with the famous Red Tower (Kızıl Kule), making the architectural ensemble complete and formidable.
Once, all the life of the city was concentrated within these walls. Spanning an area of about 10 hectares, the fortress could house up to 400 residents and served not just as a military installation but as a fully functioning medieval city. Today, it is a true open-air museum where you can walk for hours through ancient streets, exploring the ruins of churches, water cisterns, and residential buildings.
Visiting Alanya Castle is not just a sightseeing trip, but a real journey back in time. Upon reaching the top, you will be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the coastline, the city, and the mountains. It is the perfect place to feel the rich history of the region and capture unforgettable photos.
