Ehmedek Fortress is an impressive medieval defensive structure that is an integral part of the famous Alanya Castle complex (Alanya Kalesi) in Turkey. Located in the middle part of this grand ensemble, Ehmedek played a key role in the city's fortification system, serving as the so-called "middle fortress" of the entire complex.

This historical citadel was erected in the 13th century by order of the Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Kayqubad I, known for his contributions to the development of the region. Notably, the fortress was built on the foundations of even older fortifications dating back to the Hellenistic period, emphasizing the strategic importance of this site for many centuries.
Unfortunately, Ehmedek Fortress has not survived to the present day in its original form—today, visitors can mostly see ruins. Nevertheless, even these remains of ancient walls and towers allow one to appreciate the former scale and fortification significance of the structure. A walk through the ruins of Ehmedek is an opportunity to touch centuries of history and enjoy breathtaking views of Alanya and the Mediterranean Sea, making it an interesting point to explore as part of a visit to the larger castle complex.
