What to Do

There is something for everyone in this park. One of its crown jewels is the Strawberry Line—a unique miniature railway stretching over a kilometer. It is the only commercial ground-level railway of its kind in the UK with such a narrow gauge where you can ride a train powered by a real steam or diesel engine.

Thrill-seekers and fun-lovers can look forward to various attractions, from the classic Chair-o-planes carousel to the exciting Dino Jeeps ride, where the track winds through realistic animatronic dinosaurs. For active play, the massive indoor Play Barn features high slides and soft play areas, providing a great fallback in any weather.

The Animal Barn and the pets' corner hold a special place in visitors' hearts. Here, you can not only observe the animals but also feed them. Many guests speak enthusiastically about the special "fox encounters" and other resident animals, highlighting the staff's caring attitude toward their charges.

History & Facts

The history of this land is rooted in the distant past. As far back as the 15th century, the territory where children play today served as common grazing land. Later, it became a traditional farm that maintained its rural way of life for centuries.

A new chapter in the estate's history began in 1976, when the land was acquired to create a "pick-your-own" farm. Visitors came here for fresh fruit and berries, enjoying outdoor leisure. Gradually, the agricultural site began to transform into a full-fledged adventure and wildlife park.

A milestone for Avon Valley Country Park was the 1999 opening of the Strawberry Line miniature railway. Today, the park is a harmonious blend of rich farming heritage and the modern entertainment industry, remaining one of the favorite leisure spots in the Avon Valley.

Time Needed

To fully enjoy all the features Avon Valley Adventure Park has to offer, we recommend planning a full-day visit (6 to 8 hours). This will allow you to ride all the attractions without rushing, take several trips on the miniature railway, and spend plenty of time interacting with the animals.

If your time is limited, you will need at least 3–4 hours to see the main play areas and visit the petting zoo. However, remember that children often don't want to leave the park until closing time, so it's best to have extra time for a relaxed break and a picnic.

Working Hours

Operating hours for Avon Valley Adventure Park may vary depending on the season and scheduled themed events. Generally, the park is open daily during daylight hours; however, the schedule may be adjusted during the winter period or during preparations for holidays (such as Halloween or Christmas).
