The space gains a special sense of authenticity from its use of historical equipment from the legendary TableRock brewpub, which operated here in the 90s. White Dog is famous for its balanced selection, where every variety—from classic ales to experimental new releases—is brewed with scientific precision. The brewery's interior features an open industrial style decorated with themed art, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The venue is family-friendly and designed for social connection. It's equally welcoming to seasoned beer geeks and tourists stopping in for a cold drink after a walk through the city center. Unique engineering touches, such as the famous frost rail at the bar, highlight the owners' attention to detail and guest comfort.

History & Facts

The brand's story began in 2015 in Bozeman, Montana, when brothers Troy and Joe Moore decided to turn their homebrewing hobby into a serious business. The company's name was a tribute to their loyal friend—a yellow Labrador named Kami. The first microbrewery quickly gained popularity, prompting the founders to look for a larger site for expansion.

In 2016, Troy Moore happened upon the former TableRock Brewpub building in Boise, which had been the city's first microbrewery, operating since 1991. Seeing the preserved historical equipment, the brothers realized it was the perfect location. After nearly a year of meticulous renovation, White Dog Brewing opened here on September 1, 2017, making the city its main headquarters.

Today, the White Dog Brewing Co. team brings together professionals from across the country, including experienced brewers from Colorado. Although the Montana project was sold in 2020 to focus on the main production in Idaho, the company's mission remains the same: to create exceptional beer based on a scientific approach and time-honored traditions, while avoiding fleeting market trends.

Time Needed

To fully soak in the atmosphere and appreciate the skill of the local brewers, visitors are recommended to set aside one and a half to two and a half hours for their visit. This is plenty of time for a leisurely tasting of several beer varieties and a full meal from the food truck.

If you plan to visit with a group of friends, play board games, or try the arcade machines, your stay could easily extend to 3 hours. The venue features a cozy and social setting, so many guests choose to linger longer while sampling the latest seasonal offerings.

Working Hours

White Dog Brewing Co. welcomes guests daily. From Monday to Saturday, the venue is open from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, while on Sunday, the hours are slightly shorter—from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Admission is free for visitors of all ages all day long.
