The fastest way to arrive in the city is to take a flight to the local University Park Airport (SCE). This modern aviation hub receives regular flights and is conveniently located just a few minutes' drive from the campus and central streets.

Alternatively, one can consider flying to neighbouring cities followed by a transfer. The nearest options are airports in the cities of Altoona, Williamsport, or DuBois, from where it is easy to continue the journey by ground transport.

In the city of State College itself, there is no railway station, so train enthusiasts will need to plan a combined route. Travelling by rail involves arriving at one of the nearby stations followed by a transfer to a bus or taxi.

The most convenient transfer point is the neighbouring city of Altoona, located approximately 55 km away. Amtrak trains arrive here, allowing for a comfortable journey from major metropolises, followed by covering the remaining distance by road.

Bus service connects State College with many settlements in the region. A trip from the city of Altoona will take just about 1 hour 20 minutes, covering a distance of 70 km through scenic terrain.

Routes from the city of Williamsport are also popular, with a travel time of approximately 2 hours. If you are departing from the city of DuBois, expect to spend about 2 hours 30 minutes on the road, enjoying views of the state.
