Samarkand International Airport is not merely an air gateway, but a true portal to the history of the Great Silk Road, executed in a modern style. Opened in 2022, the new terminal impresses with its architecture: it is designed in the shape of an open book, symbolizing the main scientific work of Mirzo Ulugbek, the "New Astronomical Table". This air hub, the second busiest in Uzbekistan, combines Eastern hospitality with advanced technologies, offering travellers a high level of comfort. Furthermore, during take-off and landing at night, passengers can see glowing constellations on the roof of the building—a unique detail that sets the tone for the entire journey.

The main pride of the airport is its modern and functional terminal. It is equipped with 4 telescopic jet bridges, 29 check-in counters, and automated passport control turnstiles (e-gates), which significantly speeds up the completion of all formalities. Unlike many other airports, convenient car access is provided directly to the building entrance, and well-wishers can freely enter inside. For the convenience of passengers, Duty Free shops, cafes and restaurants, currency exchange points, a mother and child room, as well as 24-hour car rental offices operate on the premises.
Samarkand Airport consistently receives high ratings for service quality. It has repeatedly been included in the top ten best regional airports in Central Asia according to the prestigious World Airport Awards (SKYTRAX). Thanks to the constant expansion of the route network and the attraction of new airlines, the air harbour strengthens its status as an important transport hub connecting Uzbekistan with dozens of cities around the world.
