Belas, located on the picturesque coast of Angola, features a tropical trade-wind climate. The primary characteristic of the local weather is the influence of the Atlantic Ocean and the cold Benguela Current, which significantly moderates the tropical heat, making conditions here much more comfortable than in the country's interior.

The climatic year is clearly divided into two periods: a wet summer (from October to May) and a dry winter (from June to September). Temperatures remain remarkably stable throughout the twelve months without sharp fluctuations, allowing tourists to enjoy the seaside at almost any time of year. The dry season is often accompanied by morning coastal fogs, which create a unique atmosphere.

The temperature in Belas is pleasantly free of extreme fluctuations. The hottest time of year is December, January, and February, when daytime highs consistently reach +30...+31°C. Nights during this period remain very warm (around +25°C), and the Atlantic waters warm up to a very comfortable +26...+28°C, which is ideal for a beach holiday.

The coolest months are June, July, and August. During this time, daytime temperatures drop to a pleasant +25...+26°C, while nights can feel fresh—down to +16...+19°C. Daily temperature fluctuations are moderate thanks to the ocean breeze. Overall, you can swim in Belas year-round, as the water temperature rarely drops below +22°C even during the "coldest" season.

Belas experiences pronounced seasonality in rainfall. The rainy season occurs from October to May, peaking in March and April. During this time, the probability of precipitation is around 70%, and rains often take the form of intense but brief downpours, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms. March is considered the wettest month of the year, with about 72 mm of rainfall.

Conversely, the period from June to September is a time of absolute drought.
