A good alternative would be a trip from Joinville, from where the road takes about two and a half hours for a distance of 130 kilometers. Regular service is also established with the city of Ponta Grossa: this route, 160 kilometers long, will require about three hours, but high-quality roads and modern buses make the transfer untiring.

A trip in a rented car will provide freedom of movement and the opportunity to enjoy the landscapes of Santa Catarina state at your own pace. The shortest and most popular route lies from Curitiba: the distance of 115 kilometers along the BR-116 highway can be comfortably covered in one and a half to two hours. If you are departing from Joinville, the road will take about two and a half hours, covering around 135 kilometers, often passing through picturesque hilly sections.

The route from Ponta Grossa is slightly longer — about 165 kilometers, which will take almost three hours of calm driving. Renting a car will be the optimal choice, as an intercity taxi in this region of Brazil can cost a significant sum, often exceeding 400–500 reals, whereas personal transport will allow you to make stops at any places you like.
