If a direct flight is not possible, travellers often fly into the airport in the city of Comox or Campbell River. From these transport hubs, the journey to the coast continues by rental car, allowing you to enjoy the island's beauty along the way.

There is no direct rail service to the city of Tofino, as passenger trains do not service this part of Vancouver Island. The railway here is used primarily for industrial purposes or for excursion routes in other regions.

Tourists arriving on the island are advised to consider alternative transport options. The nearest major settlements, such as Comox or Campbell River, are connected to the coast by roads, which are the primary means of reaching the destination.

Bus travel is a reliable and eco-friendly way to get to the coast, allowing you to relax and admire the scenery. The main carrier in the region is Tofino Bus, which connects the resort with key transport hubs, including the Nanaimo ferry terminals and the city of Victoria.

Travelling by car is an opportunity to see the famous Pacific Rim Highway in all its glory. The route from the city of Comox is approximately 230 km long, will take about 3 hours, and requires attention on winding mountain roads.

The route from the city of Campbell River (about 270 km, 3.5 hours on the road) or Powell River is also popular, although the latter option involves ferry crossings. The road is very picturesque but full of twists and turns, so we recommend driving during daylight hours and monitoring the weather forecast.

A trip to Tofino requires careful preparation due to the unique climate and remoteness of the region. The following tips will help make your journey comfortable and safe:
