The Biarritz Aquarium is one of the most iconic attractions of the elegant resort of Biarritz, located on the Atlantic coast of France. It is situated in the heart of the city, in a magnificent Art Deco building, right across from the famous Virgin’s Rock (Rocher de la Vierge). Opened back in 1933, this aquarium has since expanded significantly and is now one of the largest in Europe, offering visitors a fascinating dive into the mysteries of the underwater world.
Behind its walls, a journey through marine ecosystems awaits. The complex features about fifty aquariums, home to various representatives of the flora and fauna of the Bay of Biscay and other parts of the world's oceans. Here, you can see graceful jellyfish, mysterious octopuses, seahorses, as well as large sea turtles and several species of sharks swimming in a giant 1.5-million-liter tank.
