When evening falls, the city of Le Mans is transformed beyond recognition. La Nuit des Chimères (The Night of the Chimeras) is a grand light show that turns the facades of ancient buildings into giant screens. Located in the heart of France, this project merges historical heritage with cutting-edge video mapping technology.

As part of this multi-sensory performance, medieval walls, Gothic cathedrals, and the remains of Gallo-Roman fortifications come to life under the beams of powerful projectors. Spectators can witness amazing scenes ranging from mythical creatures and soaring angels to vignettes from the lives of historical figures. Each installation is accompanied by a specially curated soundtrack and sound effects, creating an atmosphere of total immersion in a fairytale world.
The show takes place within the old town of Cité Plantagenêt and is completely free to attend. The program is updated regularly, offering new themes and animations, which makes every visit unique for both tourists and locals who come to admire the nightly transformation of their city.
