Prieuré Saint-Cosme is a stunning 12th-century architectural and park ensemble located on the left bank of the Loire in the commune of La Riche, very close to the city of Tours. This site in France harmoniously combines the remains of a medieval monastery, elegant Renaissance buildings, and magnificent themed gardens.
The priory gained its greatest fame as the final home of the "Prince of Poets," Pierre de Ronsard. Today, it houses a museum dedicated to the life and work of the great 16th-century lyricist. Visitors can see the poet's personal belongings, ancient manuscripts, and stroll through the halls where masterpieces of French poetry were once born.

The gardens and rose garden, covering an area of about 5 hectares, lend a special charm to the place. Renaissance-era floral compositions have been recreated here, featuring plants that Ronsard celebrated in his poems. Thanks to its romantic atmosphere and high-quality restoration, the site is highly rated by travelers and is considered one of the gems of the Centre-Val de Loire region.
