Located right in the center, Heumarkt is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful corners of Cologne. It is larger in size than its neighbor, Alter Markt (Old Market), offering more space for relaxation and events. For the convenience of visitors arriving by car, a paid underground parking lot is located beneath the entire square, making it an excellent starting point for exploring the city.
The old buildings framing Heumarkt, each holding its own history, give the square a special atmosphere. The square provides easy access to many of Cologne's landmarks: you can easily walk to the Rhine embankment, the world-famous Cologne Cathedral, the picturesque bridge over the Rhine, and visit numerous nearby museums.
