What to Do

The main activity at the Supercandy Pop-Up Museum is, undoubtedly, creating unique photo and video content. Visitors move from one themed zone to another, each offering its own unique scenario and color scheme. You can "swim" in a dry pool filled with thousands of balls, pose among giant sweets, or try on the role of a model in professionally set lighting.

Besides taking photos, it is interesting to simply explore the interactive objects. Many installations involve tactile contact: you can touch the props, swing on swings, or toss confetti. This space is created for play and liberation, allowing adults to briefly return to childhood and fool around.

It is also worth paying attention to the design details. The organizers often update the exhibits, adding new elements and photo zones, so the exploration process always remains exciting. Don't forget to charge your phone or camera to 100%, as you will want to shoot literally everything around you.

Getting There

The museum is located in the lively Ehrenfeld district at Oskar-Jäger-Straße 145. Getting here is quite simple by public transport, which is very well developed in the city of Cologne. The nearest metro (U-Bahn) or S-Bahn stations are Bf Ehrenfeld and Melatengürtel. From there, you can walk to the museum entrance in about 10–15 minutes.

If you prefer comfort and saving time, you can use taxi or car-sharing services from the city center. The trip won't take much time, but it's worth considering possible traffic jams during rush hours. For those traveling by private car, parking spaces can usually be found in the vicinity, although difficulties may arise on weekends.

History & Facts

The concept of the Supercandy Pop-Up Museum was born on the wave of popularity of so-called "selfie museums," which began to appear actively in the USA and quickly won the love of the public worldwide. This project became one of the pioneers of this format in the region, offering an alternative to traditional cultural institutions and betting on visual experience and social interaction in the digital age.

Interestingly, the name "Pop-Up" implies a temporary nature, but the huge success of the project allowed it to establish itself in the cultural life of the city for a longer period. The location is often situated in converted industrial buildings, creating an interesting contrast between the harsh exterior architecture and the glossy, "sugary" content inside.

The museum organizers were inspired by the aesthetics of pop art and the modern culture of content consumption. Each room is carefully designed by designers and decorators so that colors and shapes look perfect in the frame, creating the effect of a professional studio accessible to every visitor without exception.

Time Needed

To fully view all installations and create high-quality shots, it usually takes from 1.5 to 2 hours. This time is quite enough to leisurely walk through all the themed halls, choose the best angles, and take dozens, if not hundreds, of photos.

Many visitors bring a change of clothes to diversify their shots, which may slightly increase the length of the stay. However, the route is designed in such a way that flows of people do not interfere with each other, allowing you to enjoy the shooting process and entertainment without unnecessary fuss.

Working Hours

When planning a visit, pay special attention to the schedule, as the museum is not open every day. In the middle of the week, specifically on Wednesday and Thursday, the establishment is closed. At the beginning of the week (Monday and Tuesday), the doors are open to visitors from 12:00 to 18:00.

The most convenient time for long photoshoots is the end of the week. On Friday, the museum operates from 12:00 to 20:00, on Saturday the longest working day is set from 10:00 to 20:00, and on Sunday guests are welcomed from 11:00 to 18:00. We recommend checking the opening hours before your trip, as they may change on holidays.

Nearby

After creating bright photos at the museum, it is worth taking time to explore the surroundings.
