By the late 1980s, the building had fallen into complete disrepair, and the garden had turned into an impenetrable thicket. It seemed the neoclassical masterpiece was doomed to ruin.

A new chapter opened in 1993 when the castle was discovered by Beatrice Dastis Schenk and Matthias Schenk. They decided not just to renovate the building but to transform it into a living space for the development of human senses. Today, their children continue the work, carefully preserving the atmosphere of the old villa while filling it with modern interactive meaning.
