The city of Man, located in the picturesque mountainous region of Ivory Coast, is distinguished by a mild tropical climate with comfortable temperatures throughout the year. Thanks to the terrain and being the "City of 18 Mountains", as it is often called, extreme heat is rare here: average thermometer readings consistently stay in the range of +24°C to +28°C, creating pleasant conditions for travel.

In Man's weather calendar, two distinct seasons can be highlighted. From December to February is the dry period, when the number of rainy days is minimal and the sky delights with clarity — this is the best time for walking and trekking. The rest of the year, from March to November, is characterized by a wet season with frequent rainfall; the period from June to October is particularly rainy, when the region's nature becomes saturated with moisture and becomes incredibly lush and green.

The climate in the city of Man is characterized by stable warmth, typical for this part of Africa, however, noticeable temperature changes are observed during the year. The hottest period here is the beginning of the year: in February, the average temperature reaches its peak at 27.8°C, and during the day the air often warms up to almost 34°C. Conversely, the "coolest" time can be called August, when average figures drop to 23.9°C, providing a respite from the strong heat.

Interestingly, the calendar winter (December — February) feels like the hottest season here. At this time, dry weather prevails, ideal for sun lovers. Summer months, on the contrary, bring more moderate temperatures: in July and August, daily maximums rarely exceed 27°C. Such weather feels mild and comfortable, although it is accompanied by higher humidity.

Travellers should take into account significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, which are especially pronounced in the dry season. For example, in January the difference can be more than 13 degrees: after intense daytime heating (up to 33.2°C), refreshing night coolness sets in, when the temperature drops to 19.7°C. In the rainy season, closer to the middle of the year, the daily range narrows noticeably, and the temperature regime becomes more even.

When planning a trip to Man, it is worth considering the pronounced seasonality of precipitation. The driest and most comfortable period for walks falls on the winter months. In January and December, rains are a great rarity: the amount of precipitation is minimal, and the number of rainy days varies from 3 to 5 for the entire month. This is the best time to visit the region if you want to avoid dampness.

With the arrival of spring, the situation changes, and the number of wet days begins to grow rapidly. Starting from March and right up to October, precipitation becomes a frequent occurrence. The period from June to October stands out especially, when from 26 to 29 rainy days are recorded monthly. At this time of year, the sky is often covered with clouds, and rains can fall almost daily.

September is considered the wettest month of the year. At this time, a peak is observed both in the frequency of rains (about 29 days) and in their volume (on average 11 mm). Although the total amount of precipitation in millimetres may seem moderate, their regularity creates a stable humid atmosphere, characteristic of the climate of this part of Ivory Coast.

Since the climate in this region is warm all year round, the basis of your wardrobe should be light items made of natural breathable fabrics, such as cotton or linen. When planning a trip to Man, be sure to take t-shirts, shorts, and loose-fitting summer trousers. Considering that even in the coolest months the temperature rarely drops below +20°C at night, heavy warm clothes will not be needed, however, a light long-sleeved top will be useful for protection against insects in the evenings or for comfort in air-conditioned rooms.

Particular attention should be paid to protection from moisture. According to statistics, from March to November, a large number of rainy days are observed (in peak months precipitation can fall almost daily), so a high-quality raincoat, a light waterproof windbreaker, and a compact umbrella are mandatory items on the list. In the dry season, which lasts from December to February, rains are unlikely, but the sun becomes more active, so do not forget a sun hat or cap and sunglasses.

Since this city in Ivory Coast is surrounded by picturesque mountains and waterfalls, comfortable and reliable shoes will be required for excursions. Well-worn sneakers with non-slip soles or light trekking boots that can withstand walks on rough terrain are best suited.
