Your journey begins at the Gibbon Experience office, located on the main street of Huayxay near the banks of the Mekong River, directly opposite the steps leading to the central temple. Travelers are recommended to arrive here the day before the tour starts for registration and a mandatory safety briefing video.

On the day of departure, groups are assigned to 4x4 vehicles. The jeep ride takes about 1.5–2 hours (approximately 83 km) along a scenic but quite bumpy road to the ethnic village of Baan Toup. Be prepared for the road to be dusty during the dry season or muddy during the rainy season.

After arriving at the village, travelers face an uphill hike of about an hour, leading to the starting point of the zip lines. Since Huayxay is the primary gateway to Laos from Thailand, the city itself is easily accessible by international bus or boat along the Mekong.

Today, it is more than just an attraction; it is a full-fledged nature conservation program. A portion of the tour fees is directed toward protecting the forests from logging and poaching. To fully immerse yourself in the jungle atmosphere and enjoy the flights, you will need between 2 and 3 days. The most popular options are the Classic tour (3 days and 2 nights) or the "Waterfall" option, which also takes three days. For those short on time, there is an express program for 2 days and 1 night.

Keep in mind that you should also budget one additional day in the city of Huayxay before the tour begins. This time is needed to visit the office, complete registration, pay, and undergo the briefing held the day before departure.

The official "Gibbon Experience" office operates on the following schedule: Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00. On Saturday and Sunday, the office is open from 08:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 16:00.
