Marghazar Zoo, also known as Islamabad Zoo, is a vast green space of 33 hectares located at the foot of the Margalla Hills in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad. For many years, it was a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering a chance to see various animal species, including leopards, spotted deer, and Indian gazelles, which historically inhabited this region.

Currently, the zoo is undergoing a massive transformation. National authorities have initiated an ambitious project for its complete reconstruction and modernization. During the works, all animals were temporarily relocated to specialized sanctuaries where they are provided with proper care. This move highlights a commitment to creating more humane and modern conditions for wildlife.
Upon completion of the reconstruction, Marghazar Zoo will become a modern wildlife conservation center. Its primary focus will be not only on displaying animals but also on their rehabilitation. It is planned that the center will provide assistance to injured wildlife, making it an important conservation site in the region and a must-visit spot for everyone who cares about nature.
