Lahore Zoo is not just a place to see wildlife; it is one of the oldest attractions of its kind in the world. Located in Lahore, the cultural heart of Pakistan, this zoo was founded in 1872 and today serves as an important center for recreation, education, and research, attracting both tourists and locals alike.

The zoo's collection is impressive in its diversity. As of 2010, it was home to about 1,380 animals representing 136 different species. Among them were 336 mammals of 45 species, 996 birds of 82 species, and 49 reptiles of 8 species. This makes a walk through the zoo—which features a Bird House, a Tiger House, and an Elephant House—a fascinating journey through the fauna of various corners of the globe.
In addition to its rich animal world, Lahore Zoo is also famous for its flora. Numerous trees grow on its territory, turning it into a veritable botanical garden. Because of this, the zoo serves not only as a home for animals but also as an important "green lung" for the city, offering visitors shaded paths for leisurely walks and a break from the urban bustle.
