Winter months in San Blas do not fit the traditional idea of winter at all: even in January, daily highs are around 27.5°C, offering mild and pleasant weather for swimming and island hopping.

A characteristic feature of the local climate is the minimal temperature difference between day and night. The gap between the daily maximum and minimum is usually only 3–4 degrees.
