On the steep bank of the Vyatka River, in the heart of the historic Alexander Garden, stands the Riverside Rotunda—one of the most recognizable symbols and a point of pride for Kirov. This elegant Neoclassical structure, built in 1835, is an open circular gazebo with ten slender columns crowning the high riverbank slope.

Designed by architect A. E. Timofeev, the rotunda is a canonical example of 19th-century park architecture. It is harmoniously integrated into the landscape, and its white silhouette stands out strikingly against the backdrop of greenery and sky. For many people living in Russia, such structures are associated with the era of noble estates and the romanticism of past centuries.
Today, the Riverside Rotunda is recognized as a cultural heritage site. More than just an ornament for the embankment, it serves as the main observation deck, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the river reaches and the old districts of the city.
