The oldest and perhaps most atmospheric corner of the city is the Summer Garden, better known as Gorky Park. Located in the heart of Izhevsk on the high bank of a picturesque pond, this site is a unique monument of history and landscape art. Its history in Russia began in the mid-19th century when it served as a private garden for the managers of the local arms factory.
The majestic General's House, built in 1857, is the park's main architectural highlight. Today, the territory of about 4 hectares harmoniously combines the spirit of the imperial past and modern leisure spaces. Here you can see centuries-old trees, well-kept flower beds, and the famous monument to Maxim Gorky, installed nearly a century ago.

Thanks to its high rating among tourists and locals, the park is considered a must-visit. It attracts not only with its historical significance but also with the opportunity to enjoy peace and coolness in the center of the metropolis while admiring panoramic views of the water.
