Imagine a giant triumphal arch composed of thousands of chaotically intertwined logs—this is what the famous Perm Gate looks like. This unique art object, located in the city of Perm, is a massive three-dimensional letter "P" that serves as the city's recognizable visual logo. Created in 2011 by the renowned artist Nikolai Polissky, the installation became one of the most striking examples of contemporary land art in Russia.

The structure is impressive in its scale: the object's height, width, and depth are exactly 12 meters. More than 5,200 spruce logs were used to create the "gate," symbolizing the region's forest riches and the historical tradition of timber rafting on the Kama River. Thanks to its special shape, the letter "P" is clearly visible from each of its four facades, which are oriented toward the cardinal points.
Located in the Park of Stones near the railway station, this object attracts attention not only for its form but also for its content. After dark, the Perm Gate is transformed by internal lighting, while an interactive sound installation adds a mystical and profound atmosphere to your walk, allowing you to literally hear the voice of the Kama region's forests.
