Located on the right bank of the Tom River is Topolniki Park—a unique natural landscape and the "green heart" that adorns Novokuznetsk. This area is a relict grove of black poplars (osokor), spanning an impressive 66 hectares. In this part of Russia, such forests are extremely rare, making the park particularly valuable for the region's ecosystem.

Strolling along the shaded paths, you'll notice that the trees are of a venerable age—around a hundred years old—and their dark bark gives the species its name. In addition to the majestic poplars, plants dating back to the pre-glacial period grow here. Among them is the Siberian bugloss, or swamp forget-me-not, which is listed in the Red Data Book.
The park is also home to over 40 species of birds, filling the air with song. In summer, Topolniki Park attracts residents and visitors alike with its spacious sandy beach, offering a great opportunity for riverside relaxation within the city.
