Perched on the steep banks of the Tom River in the city of Kemerovo, the unique Krasnaya Gorka historical and architectural museum-reserve awaits. This site is rightfully considered the cradle of the industrial Kuzbass, as it was here in 1721 that the first official discovery of coal was made. The museum is a large-scale open-air complex where the history of Russia's subsurface exploration comes to life through authentic architectural and technical monuments.

The heart of the reserve is the stone house of the Kemerovo Mine Manager, built in 1916. Around it, across 56 hectares, are sites of exceptional historical significance: from the mouth of the first adit to the pillars of an ancient cableway. A special atmosphere is created by the industrial landscape, where natural beauty harmoniously blends with the rugged aesthetics of early 20th-century coal mining enterprises.

Here you can learn about the activities of "Kopikuz" and the famous "Kuzbass" Autonomous Industrial Colony, as well as see the majestic "To the Miners of Kuzbass" monument by Ernst Neizvestny, which has become a symbol of the courage and labor of Siberians.
