The station building has an intuitive layout. The main concourse is located at ground level, from where passengers descend to the platforms via escalators or elevators. Thanks to a modern signage system, finding the right track or exit to the city is straightforward. The railway station is integrated with the bus station, which significantly facilitates transfers.
Getting to the station from the city centre is quite simple. A walk from the historic centre and the famous culinary street Calle Laurel will take approximately 15–20 minutes. The station is located south of the old town, and the route passes through lively streets.
If you prefer public transport, city buses (such as lines 3, 9, and 11) stop near the station, connecting it to various districts of Logroño. A taxi ride from the centre will take just 5–7 minutes; a taxi rank is located directly outside the terminal exit.
The station offers a standard range of services for a comfortable wait. The building houses ticket counters and self-service machines for purchasing travel documents. The spacious waiting hall is equipped with seating where you can rest before your journey.
For the convenience of travellers, clean restrooms and baby changing areas are provided. Wi-Fi may be available within the station premises (registration is usually required). The history of railway transport in Logroño began back in 1863, when the first train arrived in the city. The old station building served the city faithfully for nearly a century and a half, acting as a vital hub for trade and passenger transport.
The modern era of its history began in 2011, when the new station complex was opened. This event was part of a large-scale urban planning project to integrate the railway into the city environment: the tracks were moved into a tunnel, which allowed previously separated districts of the city to be reconnected and created a park area on the surface. Today's station is a symbol of the region's transport system modernisation.
It is recommended to arrive at the station at least 20 minutes before your train departs. For long-distance trains (such as Alvia to Madrid or Barcelona), a mandatory luggage check via scanner is conducted before accessing the platform, which may take some time.
Keep your ticket handy until you exit the destination station. The station in Logroño is quite safe; however, as in any public place, do not leave your belongings unattended. If you are transferring to a bus, the bus terminal is located in the same complex, which is very convenient.
